Join us for an educational evening with Phil Rasmussen as he shares his extensive clinical experience around the use of NZ native phytomedicines.
In this seminar Phil will discuss several more of his favourite herbs including Harekeke, Karamu, Kumerahou and Pukatea, and present practical ways to further utilise these unique indigenous phytomedicines in your practice. New Zealand has an incredibly diverse range of flora, consisting of more than 2200 different species of native plants. The evolution and development of many of these has been quite unique over the centuries, As a result, its plants and wildlife have been subject to a unique combination of evolutionary influences, resulting in some rare phytochemical & therapeutic profiles.
Phil is passionate about facilitating greater understanding of the pharmacology of our native species and the need to protect their habitat as well as gain more of a scientific basis towards their known or potential medicinal uses. These can make a significant contribution to the healthcare of current and future generations, in a fast-changing world.
This seminar provides an excellent opportunity for herbal practitioners and students of herbal medicine to increase their knowledge of the medicinal uses of New Zealand native plants.
